Let us understand Who is a Civil Judge?
A Civil Judge (Junior Division), has the authority to decide civil cases of small pecuniary stake (Till Rs. 5 Lac)
The Court of Civil Judge (Senior Division) lies on the civil side in the middle of the hierarchy.
And the Court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate lies on the Criminal side.
The Civil Judge (from the Senior Division) has the authority to decide civil cases until the valuation crosses (Rupees 1 Crore)
Eligibility for Civil Judge Exam:-
1- You Must have a bachelor’s degree in law, from a recognized institute or university.
2- The age of the candidates must be less than or equal to 35 years.
3- The OBC And SC/ST category gets 3 years of relaxation in their upper age.
The Examination is conducted in three stages, namely:
(i) Online Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
(ii) Main Examination (Written Type)
(iii) Viva-voce (Interview)
The Preliminary Examination is conducted for only shortlisting the candidates for the Main (Written) Examination.
And The Total marks obtained in the Main Examination and the Viva-Voce Test will set the Final merit list of the candidate. The percentage of qualifying marks in preliminary exams and the scheme and syllabus of both Preliminary and Main Examination may vary from state to state. So you need to priorly have a complete understanding of the syllabus and pattern.
